Windows 7 XP Mode, For Older Software Titles That Just Won’t Run in Compatibility Mode
Don’t want to migrate or didn’t have a good enough reason to do so before? Worry no longer.
Window XP is on its way out and Win 7 is on its way in, stepping on Windows Vista in the process.
Microsoft will no longer be releasing Service Packs. They have also announced Windows XP’s end of life date to be around March of 2011. You can still us it but it will not be support.
Good News, Windows 7 is new and improved. If you find that something is incompatible or WAY to old to run even in compatibility mode you can just install and setup the Windows XP mode.
*Note: This does not work with the HOME version of Win 7. It only works with Win 7 and above.
It uses Virtual PC to run. Windows Virtual PC provides the capability to run multiple Windows environments such as Windows XP Mode from your Windows 7 desktop.

This is:
Beta-new and experimental
So make sure you back your junk up. I suggest using and external hard drive.
I have set this up on 3 pcs so far and IT IS FABULOUS. Have only had to use it once with an old program that wouldn’t run under compatibility mode.
